Cultural groups recount

On saturday the 25th of november we had cultural groups!
There were 11 cultural groups and I was in the tongan group!
We did this because it is our tradition to do the cultural groups every year.
Our leader was unisi and miss Mills.
I got there early so me and my nana went to get some food.
My nana had mocha and I got a slushie.
After watching a couple of performances we had to get ready for our performance.
The boys were wearing teki teki’s on there head and the girls were wearing ta’uvala.
We heard our names and went on stage.
Everyone was cheering. Then we did our dance. It was amazing!
When we finished we all got out of our costumes.
Then we went home. I think the day was awesome and we all had a good time!

Similes

My little cousin is as dumb as a dodo.

My uncle is as big as 1st place on Agar.io.

My brother is as brave as a tiger.

My sister is as annoying as a mosquito.

My aunty is as nice as Santa.

We wrote our own similes because we read a book called "Jason's extradoanary hair" which had lots of similes in it. A simile is when you compare two words with like or as. Can you write a cool simile? Share it with me on a comment.

Kindness calendar.

We did this to promote kindess because at the end of the year some people go selfish with presents and that. I think that this task was a cool little activity.

Holidays

We used storyboard to show what we have done in the holidays. It was quiet easy because I got the hang of it really quick. I think storyboard is good and you should use but I can say it is a little bit messy.

Diwali Celebration 2017

Diwali is a indian celebration. It is also known as the Festival of lights.

Diwali is celebrated for 2 weeks full. Diwali is not just celebrated in India it is celebrated all around the world such as Malaysia and Fiji. The lady's wear bells on there legs which are 7 kgs each leg! Also they were a dress called sari which is 9 meters long!

The performance was really good and I think they should keep celebrating it. They even got some of the teachers to dance with them!

Mindcraft the Musical Recount

On the 21st of september we had a production! Called MINDCRAFT THE MUSICAL. The Kauri group was split into 3 even groups. Choir(MY GROUP), Props (Used to be in that group) and Set and marketing. Choir was the group that had to sing the songs. Props made all the heads and tv and big stuff. Set and marketing made posters and made the minor props. I was in the choir, Scene changer and props. I was in the props and then I got chosen for Scene changer. I got bored so I decided to join the choir! I think I did really well and My grandparents were proud of me too, so overall I did good. EVERYTHING WAS CHALLENGING! There was not one thing that was easy (One of the reasons I liked that we finished yesterday) . The most enjoyable part was the all about the spells song because it is my favorite song. The most important thing in a production is never give up! It might not look like what you thought it was gonna be but at the end of everyone participating it will be better than what you thought.

Kauri Speeches

My first reason is that gamers get FASCINATED ABOUT HISTORY! Yes, this one was quite a shock to me. But here is why, The reason why this happens is because their are more than hundreds of video games based on historical events. Such as Assassin's creed! In the game their is a  gang called the blighters. They were based on a real gang known as the The Peaky Blinders! Once they find out these historic events that actually happen they get drawn into looking into the history of the actual event! Amazing huh? If not here is the next one.

Everyone in Kauri had a speech competition.This is a paragraph of my speech. My topic was The benefits of games.

Blues Trip

Wednesday 28th of June

Anthony and I went to see the Blues for a skills and drills day. We saw most of the team. Sonny Bill Williams was in Wellington with the All Blacks. We had all sorts of drills. We also got free milo! There were other schools there too. We had this one drill where we had to tackle the tackling bag. We also had this passing drill too and there was a 1 on 1 one too.

Then finally at the end we got some merchandise like sunglasses, a wristband and a poster. Anthony even won a Blues shirt!

Thanks Mr Bennett for organising such an awesome experience!

My perfect day

Holiday writing

In the holidays we went and watched two movies. Boss baby and The lego Batman movie. I would recommend watching Boss baby more than The lego Batman movie because The lego Batman movie shows Batman’s soft side and the jokes are not that funny. Though with Boss baby the story is amazing with some humor but both were good. We also went to the park about 10 times. First we went May road park and then we were going to go to potters park but they changed the park so we went rocket park. Then after that we went to owairaka park and ate some fish and chips. I saw Angie, Brooke and Danialla.

Science in a van day!

Today we had a visit from the awesome people from ‘Science in a Van’. The morning started with some fun science tricks where there were 2 cups and a teapot and cloth underneath them. Emily had to pull the cloth underneath them so fast that the cups didn't move and she did! Allen had a board with four strings tied to it. He put a cup on it and said if he swinged it in circles the cup wouldn't fall of it. He swinged it in circles and it didn't fall! It was because the energy wanted to go the other way but the board kept on stopping it. He told us that without force nothing can be moved. Then he told us about the 5 senses and I got picked for one of the volunteers! We got blindfolds and he gave us an item that we had to say without seeing it. He also showed us some stuff with dry ice. He said never ever put dry ice in a sealed container. Then he put it in a sealed container and it exploded! Then Emily came back and showed us about the periodic table. Then I saw a can and it was smoking. She put it in a container of water and it imploded!

I learnt that there are 3 states of matter

1. Solid
2. Liquid
3. Gas

I also learnt about atoms. When the atoms join together they make molecules.

Another cool thing I learnt was that solid dry ice can easily be turned into gas but does not like to be turned into liquid.

I had a really great time watching ‘Science in a Van’. I learnt lots of new, interesting, information about states of matter and I would highly recommend it to anyone else who had the opportunity to watch it.

Holiday Writing

Picking up Grandpa from the Airport

We finally arrived at the airport. The sun was blazing hot so it was tiring. I heard the roar of the airplane engines. We stood at the arrivals gate waiting for my Grandpa. I was nervous because I hadn't seen him in 3 weeks.

We were waiting for so long . While we were waiting we couldn't hear a single thing. It was so loud that it was noisier than my baby cousin crying!! I saw how happy the people's faces were when they saw their family. Suddenly out of nowhere I saw someone come out of the arrivals door. It was my Grandpa! He had a great smile on his face and he couldn't wait to tell us what he did in Tonga.

After this we had Mcdonalds. My grandpa looked like he enjoyed it because they don’t have Mcdonald's in Tonga. Also he had the most so I could tell. I just had a frozen coke and cheeseburger.

When we went home my grandpa opened his suitcase. He gave a whole packet of Tongan lollies! I still have some though because I only ate two a week.

My grandpa had a rest and I did too.
